RIP-IT has built the reputation for being the best instructional programs in New England. We provide an outstanding curriculum, top notch coaches from local high schools and college programs. 
Our training sessions will focus on teaching the skills, concepts and game situations that will give you the confidence to make quality decisions on the field and ULTIMATELY prepare you to play at the next level. Loads of scrimmage opportunities in small game and full field situations ALL under the direction of professional coaches.

Head Coach Anita Rackovan, Loomis Chaffee


Anita Rackovan was a four-year varsity lacrosse letter-winner for Princeton University during the 2003-2006 seasons. Her team won the NCAA Division I National Championship in 2003 and finished as the runners-up in the national championship game after an undefeated regular season in 2004. Added to Princeton's national championship appearances were three Ivy League championship wins in 2003, 2004, and 2006.

Girls Lacrosse Spring Program Information Grades K-8

Girls Lacrosse Grades K-8

Lightning: Grades K-2

This is an instructional clinic that will teach the fundamentals of lacrosse, focusing on catching, cradling, throwing and picking up ground balls (scooping). Girls will have an opportunity to learn in a positive environment and have fun with the game of lacrosse.

There is one weekend day practice and an occasional weekday practice.

No equipment or travel required.

Registration Fee: $75 (includes use of stick and goggles as well as $25 US Lacrosse Fee)


Bantam: Grades 2-4 (Players in grade 2 are only eligible with league approval)

This division will teach individual skills and introduce team concepts. Coaches will teach the fundamentals of lacrosse, focusing on catching, cradling, throwing and picking up ground balls.

Typically there is a 2-3 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).

Lacrosse stick, eye goggles and mouth-guard are required.

Registration Fee: $110 (includes $25 US Lacrosse Fee)


Junior: Grades 5/6

While continuing with the advancement of individual skills, team play takes on a bigger role. Modified checking (sticks only) is introduced at this level. Coaches will be continuing to focus on stick skills and footwork.

Typically there is a 2-3 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).

Lacrosse stick, eye goggles and mouth-guard are required.

Registration Fee: $110 (includes $25 US Lacrosse Fee)
 

Senior: Grades 7/8

Continued development of individual skills as well as more advanced game strategies will be taught in a fun and supportive environment. Players will continue sharpening individual skills, with an emphasis on communication.  Full checking (sticks only) is introduced at this level.  The concepts taught in the younger levels form the basis for the team offense and defense that will be reinforced at this level.

Typically there is a 2-3 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).

Lacrosse stick, eye goggles and mouth-guard are required.


Registration Fee: $110 (includes $25 US Lacrosse Fee)
 

Bantam, JR & SR teams play in the Connecticut Valley Girls' Youth Lacrosse League (CVGYL) and travel is required.

Vernon Lacrosse has an annual Munson's chocolate bar fundraiser to help contain costs. Every player in the league is required to participate (Lightning, Bantam, JR. & SR.) or choose the optional buy-out*.

*Optional buy-out- Players can pay a $50 buyout fee in lieu of selling the Munson's chocolates.

Lightning: Grades K-2

Typically there is one weekend day practice and an occasional weekday practice.

No equipment required.

Registration Fee: $75 ( includes $25 US Lacrosse Fee & use of a helmet, gloves, and stick)


Bantam: Grades 2-4  (Players in grade 2 are only eligible with league approval)

The Bantam program builds on the fundamentals taught in the lightning division.  Basic skill development is the goal of the Bantam program.  Catching, scooping, cradling, passing and shooting will be emphasized.  Players will learn how to play lacrosse as a team.  Players learn these skills during practices and games played against other teams in the CVYL.  Players are allowed to stick check but not body check.
Typically there is a 2-3 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).

Registration Fee: $125  (includes $25 US Lacrosse Fee and use of a helmet) *Rental Equipment Available

Junior:  Grades 5-6  

In the Junior program advanced skills are developed (including body checking). Games are played against other members within the CVYL. Typically there is a 2-3 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).

Registration Fee: $125  (includes $25 US Lacrosse Fee and use of a helmet)

Senior: Grades 7-8

The Senior program seeks to advance the skills of players further as they prepare for play at the high school level. Games are played against other members within the CVYL.
Typically there is a 2-4 day weekly commitment (practices and/or games).

Registration Fee: $125  (includes $25 US Lacrosse Fee)
